What is Foot Zoning

Its a holistic approach to addressing the body’s overall health by manipulating the surface and deep tissue of the foot. The feet are mapped out into different “zones”, each one corresponding with the systems of the body. (ie: circulatory, nervous, urinary, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, reproductive, muscular & skeletal systems). When we experience discomfort, that’s our body’s way of communicating that there is an imbalance in that area- areas needing attention.  Our entire body is made up of molecules (energy) and those molecules are constantly moving. When those molecules start to slow down or become stagnant, is when we experience discomfort. During the zone, a therapist will apply pressure to specific areas to help release blocked signals and allow the molecules to flow freely again.

When looking to schedule a Foot Zone Therapy Session, it is very important that it is administered by a Certified Foot Zone Therapist. Many things go on during a session and the experience and knowledge a therapist has will help achieve the full physical, mental, emotional & even spiritual benefits. A session typically lasts 45-60 minutes with the exception of the first, which can last up to 1 1/2 hours. Frequent sessions over a two month period are recommended (at first) to detoxify and restore the body back to homeostasis. It is when your body is relaxed that it is truly able to heal. At that point, you and your therapist will determine a schedule that works for you, so that you can maintain the benefits/progress made from the zone.
